Ultimate Reset Day 4

I'm realizing that I'm running at a very steady pace these days. Nothing has stressed me out, made me angry, just staying very mellow and cool. I LOVE IT!! This is how life should be. :) My sleep is still lacking, but I still feel well rested during the day. Actually around lunch time I had nothing else going on so I plopped on the couch, caught up on some old tv shows and ate my lunch very slow. If felt great to have not a worry in the world for that hour.

Today started out a bit rushed, but well planned. It's my Volunteer Day at my sons school so we headed out like normal in the AM. Thankfully I was already prepped with all my breakfast items ready to go. Today was a plate of fresh fruit, yogurt, and toast. The fruit was the best tasting ever! I wish I wish I could have slowed down to really enjoy it, but that's alright.  The natural sugar gave me lots of energy, but yet I was still very calm feeling.

Everyone said Days 4,5, & 6 are the toughest and honestly it was days 1-3 that was tougher for me. And only because of the new schedule, food, and prepping that I am not used to.

I only have one complaint so far (and fair warning this will be TMI!!!!!). There has not been a BM since Day 1. I'm drinking 70oz of water a day and eating all my food, but I'm still feeling really full in my belly. I've started having my Tropical Shakeology as my snack so that should help clear things up here soon with al lit's pre and probiotics.

For lunch it was the same as dinner from the night before and it was so much better made the 2nd time!

making my lunch

And the Result :) Only took a few minutes to put together.

Dinner was so good and full of new things for me! I'd never cooked or eaten Quinoa before. Turns out it's a lot like rice and very yummy, even just plain! There were also stir fry veggies which were to die for!! I overcooked them so they were soft and kind of crispy, which just added flavor.

I think the best party about this Reset has been that I've introduced new foods to my family. My son has tried the Miso Soup, Quinoa, and now zucchini! He has even asked if he could have some of the vegetables the nest day for his lunch. I LOVE THIS RESET and what it's doing for my family!! I know some of these recipes will be sticking around afterwards. The whole learning experience about listening to your body and not just eating all the time because you THINK you NEED to has been an eye opener.

Ultimate Reset Day 3

This is the Day to test all my will power to the MAX! It's a school morning and what happens then? I wake up and get right to work making breakfast and lunch for my son. but what do I normally do the entire time? Oh, I make a cup of coffee, and snack here and there on the things I put into his lunch. Of Course I usually lick the knife after making his PB&J! I taste the cookie to make sure it hasn't gone stale. Is that waffle warm enough, let's see?   You get the picture. And there, is my usual breakfast, before my Healthy breakfast of Oatmeal with Protein Powder.

So Day 3 was full of temptation in the AM. I made it through with just my supplements and water until I got home from taking my son to school. However as I walked through the hallways I smelled the delicious smell of coffee and syrup. It didn't make me WANT those things, but the smell was just like nothing I've ever smelled before! Everything seems so new and fresh to my senses now! I LOVE IT!!!

The day went great! I was awake, had plenty of energy and just a lingering ache in the lower back. Nothing to stop me from prepping the veggies for lunch and dinner though! Today was a Lentil Lime Salad with a Micro Salad..and a side of Cougar Town to relax. :)

I'll be honest, I had to choke the Lentil dish down. I do NOT like cilantro & lime flavored things. Bleh!! But I ate it b/c I'm trying new things and want to feel AMAZING! I am following the meal plans exactly as written to share the best (and not so great for me) experiences.

One really great thing about the Ultimate Reset is that if you see a meal that you KNOW you will not like you can switch it out for any other meal from that week. Shoot, you can even have the same breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week. Do I suggest that, NO! Because what happens on week 2 and when you were supposed to weaning yourself from certain items and you've been having them every day? Probably not going to transition very well.

For dinner we had Japanese dishes on the menu and I was nervous and excited. I ran to the store to grab the last few things that were needed. I was so excited about what I was making that I told EVERYONE that I ran into at the store what I was having for dinner! (no my son did NOT eat this with me, he stuck with a pizza) But he did taste the Miso soup and he didn't spit it out!

Miso Soup Paste

Dinner was Nori Rolls, Miso Soup, and Japanese Cucumber Salad. This was a lot of work and I'm so glad I looked ahead. I cut cucumbers up at lunch and cooked A TON of rice on Day 2. So I was pretty well set.  It was all Delicious, well, except the Wakame Seaweed! That stuff was awful and felt, smelled, and tasted like it was fresh from the ocean. So slimy and just YUCK!  I had to eat slowly because it was all so filling. Oh, and I did have my very first Tropical Shakeology as my afternoon snack. Maybe that's why I was so full. Either way it was like a party in my mouth, even just shaken with water!

I can't get over how my taste buds have changed to the little things. It's been a great 3 days so far and honestly nothing to complain about. I'm keeping track of my weight and will share that at the end. ;o) I did feel like I NEEDED to workout the morning of Day 3, but it passed once I got busy with prepping food. I'm not sleeping well, but feel rested and good during the day. My dreams are very vivid which is probably what wakes me up.

MISO SOUP

Ingredients
  • 2 cups + 2 to 3 Tbsp. water
  • 2 Tbsp. dried wakame seaweed

Ultimate Reset Day 2

WATER, Water, and More water! (& Memorial Day!)

If swimming in your water cup was possible I would probably have been doing just that yesterday. It was a little harder drinking so much, but I just kept telling myself, if you're hungry, You must drink! Funny thing is, I really wasn't hungry! I was so full that my belly felt as if it should have been bloated out. I realized today that I'm drinking so much water that it's actually keeping me full. YAY! That's never happened before. Mostly because I'd rather just hit the pantry up for a handful of snacks than drink a boring glass of water.  But, it's possible now and I'm getting through it!
Of course with ALL that water comes lots of trips to the bathroom. It's just #1 (yeah I'm being bluntly honest) but it's like a "I'm good..." to instaly "I've gotta RUN before I have an accident!" LOL Luckily no accidents happened and I didn't have to wait in line.

I spent most of the day prepping ahead of schedule. It felt great to ease into things than rushing and stumbling because of lack of focus and energy. I kept on top of my schedule and the day was very calm and relaxed. I pre-made my lunch (Greek Chicken Salad) and took with me to the Memorial Day BBQ. I was completely comfortable eating my Enormous salad around all the other foods. i wasn't even tempted to try a bite of dip or dessert. How was that even possible? I kept reminding myself how I feel after I indulge and overeat after get togethers like that. It was MORE than enough to keep my fingers clean! :)

I came home and began cooking dinner, which was the best dinner I've had in a LONG time! (Black beans & Rice) I also realized that I REALLY miss just having something to chew on. Usually I'll go through a pack of sugar-free gum in a few days. I see them in the car and it is such torture.  It's not that I'm hungry because I'm kept pretty full, but I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to gum and eating in general.  Good thing I'm realizing this now.

As far as as any negative effects there isn't much. I slept Great the first night! About 9 hours and only woke up once to potty. However, I did have a sore lower back all day and a little down the outside of my thighs. By the time I layed down for bed on night 2 my calves were exhausted.  I didn't sleep good at all. I had one Really vivid (like real life) dream and from then on I kept waking up. I felt fully awake and refreshed every time, but it had only been a few hours. Time to hit SNOOZE in my brain.

Day 2 of NO COFFEE AND NO SUGAR! SUCCESS!

Ultimate Reset Day 1

Honestly Day 1 went pretty good! I woke up with a weird allergy reaction to who knows what. My eye was swollen, and that whole side of my head was achy, eye was watering like crazy and my nose was running. Nothing at all to do with the Reset since I hadn't even started yet. But, it did clear up by mid day and I was feeling so much better!

The 1st day of no coffee was a little struggle since my mind stayed foggy most of the day. I feel like I was playing Catch Up all day long. However I never got a headache and felt pretty great! :)

Breakfast was delish and kept me full for several hours! best of all it took me a whole, maybe 5 mins to cook it all!

For lunch I had planned on going to the opening showing of Battleship. I was NOT going to give in to the popcorn! I prepped my Micro Salad with Creamy Garlic Dressing and took it with me to the movies.
I was nervous about the overwhelming smell of the dressing, but no one complained and I completely enjoyed the action packed movie with my healthy food.

The rest of the day was a busy one. I got home just in time to take my afternoon supplements, Alkanalize and Mineralize. I went in thinking that the Alkanalize couldn't be any worse then Greenberry Shakeology mixed with water. I was about right...I think.

Here are my pics. After 1 sip it wasn't bad, but then I decided to GULP it down.  HA! That stuff has a strong after taste! Bleh!

Immediately I began prepping for dinner, obviously no LACK of energy on Day 1. But I was STARVING! Flipping though the guide book I saw that Peanut Butter was allowed with some apple or celery! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! HEAVEN!  If I only had some natural peanut butter... I settle for 1/2 an apple and 10 almonds.

Day 1 ended at a Baby Shower pot luck style. And of course there was an AMAZING massive cake. Ugh, my downfall. I took my own plate of food with me, baked chicken breast, asparagus, and baby red potatoes.  I decided to wait to have my dinner until everyone was eating their cake. It really helped! If I had just sat there watching everyone eat the cake I would have been savoring every last drop. Pure Torture!

Ok, I'll be truthful. A piece of cake came home for my son and it was NOT covered. RED FLAG FOR ME! Pure deliciousness in fingers reach with nothing to protect it. Well, I tasted it. I was thinking about my goals and why I'm doing this reset and how I would feel having to tell everyone about it. Yet, that urge to taste it was much stronger. I had a small piece of the cake and frosting. It was heavenly and honestly I don't I could have savored that bit anymore.  So, that was it, the LAST BITE OF SUGAR until I'm done!!!!

Oh yeah! I drank at least 76oz of water and peed like a pregnant woman! It really wasn't all that hard. Just kept my Shakeology shaker cup full and didn't even think about it.

Ultimate Reset

WHY AM I DOING THIS?!

I've made it to Day 1 of the Ultimate Rest! I know, just wait until I get through week 1.  Some may wonder why I'm doing this, well it's not to lose weight. I'm starting out at 115lbs. I'm 5'3 and have a steady workout schedule, so I'm pretty happy with that and have maintained a 11-13% body fat since the Fall of 2011.

It's taken me a year to get to where I'm at today, but I KNOW  that my Nutrition could use a kick in the butt! Seriously! I have the motto that "I workout to eat". Sure that motto wont be changing because that is just who I am. I LOVE TO EAT and I LOVE good food! However, I tend to have way to many sweets in a day and these next 21 days will be a struggle in that chocolate craving. I know I don't have flat and defined abs because of my sugar addiction. And yes, I've been addicted since I was a kid! Dad managed a grocery store and mom was a vendor for Keebler, so you can probably imagine the "freebies" that were given out.

Anyways! On to a NEW ADVENTURE! I decided to do the 21 Day Ultimate Reset after hearing from some of the others coach from my team. They all had amazing results in their attitudes, their relationship with food, to listen to their body more than impulses. All of their energy has naturally increased, they've slept better and wake up refreshed and energized. I could go on and on! So YEP, I'm SOLD!

THE GROCERIES!!!

I'm the type of person who gets very overwhelmed with new tasks unless I just dive right in. So yesterday, Reset Eve, I went grocery shopping.
What made the shopping Really easy was that the Grocery List is  PROVIDED for you!!
I have a few things I wasn't sure about so I'll be going back today. But I sure felt good with my buggy full of Healthy fresh produce! :)

THE MORNING OF DAY 1, Sunday May 27th

I woke up at 6:30am! HA! I can't even do that and be perky during the week. I tried to stay in bed longer, mostly because I knew I couldn't have coffee. Oh man, do I LOVE coffee as soon as I wake up! Actually, it's like I love the CREAMER in the coffee. (Hello Sugar!)

I just learned that on DAY 1 YOU CUT OUT DAIRY! AND there are cute little videos for EVERY meal that you make for the day teaching you how to make it! YAY!! I'm so EXCITED about that!

I'm really looking forward to breakfast even though I'm not really hungry this early. But I know from doing the 3 Day Shakeology Cleanses that if I don't eat in the morning my body will be STARVING in the afternoon.  No bueno!

I've taken my water with the Mineralize, 12 drops of the Oxygenize, and my 2 Optimize pills.  If you want to know more about what all that is you can check out this link. Ultimate Reset The Science

So now I'm off to made breakfast (eggs, toast, and steamed spinach) for me the kiddo (yes, I have a son who will be turning 6 during this Reset) and prep my lunch. We have a great day planned with going to see Battleship in the theater and then I'll be going to a Kokeshi Making Baby Shower.
